Droppage at Poolesville. Club Hollow Road.

Caption Contest - Leonardtown Style. Uncle Pappy Spotting!!

A little upset..(jealous) that Uncle Pappy got the best Rugg photo the internets has posted in a long while so we had to make sure that our caption contest included him in the subject.  Also, for the record..the Haymarket kits look good. Very good. More jealousy setting in.

We'll start

or

How many District Velocities Does it Take..?

Turning on Anonymous postings for this. Enjoy.

Jose Nunez...get your ass upgraded

Just the stuff we found on USA Cycling should give him the points...and there is probably more..and we think he's put his request in about 70 times. What up?

Leonardtown Crit 3/4 3rd
Bunny Hop Masters 3/4 1st
Carl Dolan 3/4 1st
Richmond Crit 3/4 1st
Black Hills CR 3/4 4th
Leonardtown Crit (last year) 4th

Switching gears (see what I did there?) what is the verdict on the Haymarket not XO Harley kits so far? Are any traffic cones in threat of being replaced? Are we one step away from an orange jumpsuit? Do we carve out eyes, nose, and mouth or am I totally off and are they totally pro and fast? Jose look good tho.

Gravity Wins

New Cover Model?

Dan Netzer, of Celerity Cycling in the VA, won something of Gran Fondoness proportions this weekend in New York. Finishing medal? Destruction of others? We don't know. What we do know is he is representing YGD they way we should be represented. Word.

Now..stay tuned for droppage. It's out there.

Dropped at the Hop?

By their very nature, no race is ever "easy". However if one were to imagine an "easy" course, it would probably be flat, low wind, and easy corners. Essentially, you imagine the Bunny Hop.

Droppage in this race is usually rare, but...

It would appear that some talent is still too "raw"

Droppage From Above

Our YGD helicopter was hovering over Roanoke Twilight Crit a couple weekends ago looking for droppage. It was found. Word on the street is that Ruth Stornetta has a pretty sweet 'throat slit' movement when yanking the droppeto. Free pair of socks if we can get images of this while in full effect.

...and yes....Peter Cannell is frontrunner for Douchebag of the Year so far. We are planning something special for you Peter.

Mid Atlantic Races, Reader Submissions and the Clap.

Yikes...it's been awhile since we've updated but there has been a lot of good droppage going on.

Black Hills Circuit Race provided some good terrain. Almost too good. We are going to give an early season pass to everybody who felt the wrath of the Black Hill. Either that or we can't find any good photos of severe maximum droppage from the day. So..it's never too late if you anybody has a submission...Just sayin'

The other story is the Mid Atlantic calendar.
Tradezones: Dropped.
Vint Hill: Dropped
Tysons: Dropped.
Jeff Cup: Mother's Day.
Walkersville: Dropped.
Harwood: Postponed

Not to mention whatever is happening in Pennsylvania. If anybody wants to elaborate, consider this an open forum.

Ok..to the fun stuff. Not necessarily dropped but a nice reminder to cross that line first before celebrating. Thanks to Sung Pak for this pic: Not sure where/what it's from or whom these people are.

This sequence comes from Daniel Dinneen. The race is the Philly Flyer. Hey..at least this kid looks smooth while getting the ol' D. College racing rocks.

So Many Things Happening

my head is exploding right now. my eyes are having babies. this is nirvanic. eyeballs everywhere.
  • A dropped rider behind support with head down
  • To the right, a rider is crashing and smiling
  • On the front, a rider is looking back AT THE CRASH (don't do this, people)
  • Another rider hidden is also looking back.
  • To the left, a rider is negotiating road vs. grass
Things are going to happen here.

I love college. I love these racers.

Thanks to John M. from GW for the photos. There are more in my inbox. One at a time.

The Return of Droppage

It's been a long winter. We've had multiple douchebags, caption contests, a YGD celebration of MABRA bahamian domination and lots of days with nothing to post.

However....we are back for what we know. Putting up stupid pictures of people getting dropped during races. There is no shame people. It happens. Well, maybe a little shame..but it still happens. The following is a perfect droppage photo. It's tells a story. It's a story from the NC State Wolfpack Race a couple weeks ago.

Thanks to John M. from GW Cycling for the shot.

MORE DOUCHEBAG!!

And by douchebag, I mean doper. Not only is this guy a douchebag, he's an idiot twofold. Remember this Kayle Leogrande guy bust onto the scene a few years ago on the NRC circuit racking up wins at big races. Come on,. the guy with all the tattoos starting winning sprints out of the blue. Ok ok..this guy. I think this is a publicity shot for Guys Gone Wild: Giant Earhole Edition.

Still don't remember? Ok, he's one of Joe Papp's clients whom purchased steroids from the Pappster then thought it would AWESOME to email a photo of him holding said steroids. Remember, this guy has an arm full of sleeves. SMART!!!

So, of course before this all goes down in 2008, but is already being implicated, he gets a contract from...guess who? Rock Racing. His results in 2008 start to suffer while he's being implicated most likely because he laid off the sauce but it was too late. It turns out Matt DeCanio was right all along about doping. Still crazy..but right.

Once a cheater...always a cheater in our book.

Kayle Leogrande, an American cyclist and tattoo artist, has filed a defamation suit against as many as 32 people.

Anyway, TatBoy got a couple years from cycling and now he's back. We found this gem on YouTube addressing his 'fans' regarding his new team. I've never seen a more shifty guy. His eyes are more beady than a desert rat. He's convinced a bunch of people to give him money and actually sponsor a team!! WTF? OMG!

Luckily, I'm not a pro but if I'll never play this guy in Monopoly, chess, checkers, hopscotch, a game of horse, or any other game that one can cheat in. Godspeed.

Early Running for Douchebag of Year - Ricardo Ricco

Hello February. It's cold in MABRA. Please warm up.

Meanwhile, things are happening in the doping world. Besides June and July, it seems that February is a hot time of the year for pros getting popped by WADA. You might remember this time last year when Floyd was making big news of his own ultimately winning Douchebag of the Year honors.

This year, not to be outdone by Floyd is Ricardo Ricco. You might remember this fellow from events such as:

Tossing his bike in a race
Saunier-Duval bike tosser Riccardo Ricco in Italy this year.

Standing on the podium of Giro di Italia totally doped up

Having a pretty hot girlfriend who tested positive for CERA, a new form of EPO

And, of course, testing positive himself

Now, holmes has taken it to a TOTALLY NEW LEVEL. Before the season really even gets kicked off, he gets hit with a sudden illness as a result of a blood transfusion gone wrong. Ricco is in the hospital, no hot girlfriend, no team, no future. I ALMOST feel bad for this guy. Browne Eye blog has a nice little editorial on it here.  Much better than an anonymous illiturate can do here.

Cycling fans take note of how much Ricco has aged in the past 2 years. A result of the stress that goes with doping for sure...oh...and DOPING!!!
Riccardo Riccò awaits the start of the Grand Prix d'Ouverture La Marseillaise.

Of course, Cav sums it up the best..to Cyclingnews: Mark Cavendish recently told the press, "It's like a parasite coming back into the sport.”   The sprinter bristles. "It's not the fact of what he did, because everyone can make a mistake. But he doesn't see it as a mistake. He's not even sorry about it."

So, it sounds like it has Cavs support..and I like that cocky cockney speaking missle so Mr. Ricco, you are Douchebag of the Week.

Word.

MABRA's Chuck Hutch Drops Bahamas

It has been reported that YGD fan Chuck Hutch put the drop on the field during early early early season Tour of Bahamas and won the whole dang thing.

We thought it was interesting/funny/awesome that he's still wearing the YGD Classic tee!

*pics stolen off the XO Communications/Battley Harley Davidson Facebook Page. Go be a fan.

The Season is Here...for a few

A few MABRAinians are making the voyage to Tour of the Bahamas this weekend for...bike racing? Jared Nieters has been annoying his Facebook fans with mentions of how balmy the weather is and posting pics of one of his companions for the trip. Surprise, it's Chuck Hutch.

Chuck looks cold. Maybe a pullover YGD in the future? Hmmmmm....

Good luck to the Harleymarket XO threesome this weekend (Hutch, Nieters, Sacawa). By the way, do these guys EVER take a break?  Curtis Windsor also looks to be getting in on the suntan action. We'll look for some droppage this weekend given out by the crew. If anybody comes across TOB droppage pics, send them our way. We aren't counting on anything though.

One the Cat 3 end of things, we see that Bike Doctor's dentist, Todd Bickling is joined by ABRT's Mark Lahuec (sounds French) where they are both guaranteed a top 13. Guess whose bike this is? (hint...all dentists have to own Cervelo's according to Maryland dental laws).

I like the rainbow colors and the juxtaposition of the black bike and blue water.

This Week in Pro Cycling!

Floyd Landis retired.
Floyd, I don't know what to think about you. On one hand, you cheated your ass off. On the other, I'd cheat too if Lance kept on jizzing on me year after year.

Then you went and spent all your winnings on that sweet chincilla coat, leaving you no funds to lawyer up..so you started this Free Floyd Fund, another total lie.

Enjoy retirement, Floyd.

Read the SI article (below) to learn why Landis isn't planning on pulling espresso at Starbucks anytime soon. Hint: Government whistleblower kickback for ratting out all his boys.

Lance Armstrong in Sports Illustrated
Blah blah blah..blah blah blah. More direct evidence to assume Lancalot is finally going to get popped. What's that you say? This time is for realz? You bet your sweet Sheryl Crow oversize sunglasses it is. The United States Gubmint is cracking the whip. Why are the US Feds getting involved? Fraud!!! Millions of Americans were led to believe Lance wasn't doped to the gills during his tenure with the Postal Service, a bona fide government agency.

It even gets more complicated than that. The SI story is finally a story about cycling and doping worth reading. The sport isn't short of these either. The biggest thing I got out of the whole SI article is that the Bears are heading to the NFC East Championship Game (the cover of SI that week) and that Lance and almost everybody else in cycling during that time period was juicing more than Jack Lalanne.

Lance-armstrong.37.b
Never taken a single PED. Seriously.

Contador to face 1 year Suspension..Maybe
So it looks like we'll see by this Thursday if Contador will face a one year suspension. If that happens, will tour organizers revoke his 2010 Tour de France victory? Will the drama of CHAINGATE be for naught?

Thoughts on this chick in the yellow swimsuit besides awesome tanlines.

There is so much more going on right now..I can't keep up. Maybe this means more postings?

Haymarket Stories - We want them!!

Jared over at Haymarket Bicycles has put his energy into organizing the now infamous Haymarket Winter Bike League race/ride series.  Go to the Facebook page here to learn more about the 4 part series, hear stories, and see photos of guys like Jeff Trinh and John Cutler show off their grit face after the inaugural event this past Sunday.

The guys at Cutaway Clothing also put together some pretty sweet t shirts and hoodies to commemorate the event. Buy that stuff here.

You Got Dropped is happy to support this event with a handful of door prizes. We hope you like them and we wish we could do more.

In the meantime, go to the Facebook page and share your stories...If you got/get dropped, feel free to share them here either in the comment section here or email them. This is a safe place. Promise.

The next Haymarket Winter Bike League event is this Sunday, January 9th.

Chicago Style

OMG OMG OMG!!

A Chicago reader submission.

A giant blueman racing in snow. A mariachi band band playing under the Specialized tent. A spectator dressed as Superman, another as a nun, and another with a vuvuzela. This is awesome.

Black Tuesday and Sven Nys has Balls of Steel

We are having such a good time putting stuff in envelopes we decided to extend Black Monday to...BLACK TUESDAY!!! (echo echo echo).

We are running out of socks, especially large. Plenty of mediums and some extra larges.Lots and lots of smalls left. We probably won't order more socks for a long while so this is it.

Shipping is free on embrocation but will be delayed since we have to brew up a new batch. Eight bucks.

We'll leave you with some World Cup droppage. We haven't seen a pedal controversy like this since Lance unclipped from his DuraAce in LeTour.  We weren't able to embed but PLEASE go over to the Cyclocross Channel on YouTube and fast forward to 10:00 and watch the final minutes of Superprestige Gieten.

Black Monday Sale at YGD

To celebrate the biggest online shopping day of the year, we've decided to place everything is on sale at YGD.

We woke up this morning feeling the BLACK MONDAY spirit but we also want everybody to have a Happy and Merry Chrismakunakwanzaka. Most importantly, we want to empty our current inventory so we can start thinking about bringing out new items to the masses. Just think: YGD designer handbags. YGD cereal. YGD dental grilles.

Anyway..everything is on sale for Black Monday and/or until we feel like changing the prices back. It's kind of a pain to change so these prices might last a few days. But it might not so order today if you can and make everybody's lives easy.

YGD Classic Tees - $11.99
YGD Socks - $5.50
YGD Embro - $8.00

Shipping is cheap too.

And we are working on getting the jersey prices to go lower so hang tight until we get that. In the meantime, if you have ideas of stuff we can put our logo on, drop us a line. Thanks for the support.
