...and we also found this little gem in cyberspace proving that Geronimo K. also works part time as a doctor at the local hospital. Rubber gloves can only mean one thing... Everybody looks way too happy here.

Dear Cyclocross. Every year you come and go...and every year YGD gets sad. It's hard to tell when people got dropped since 'there are so many races within races happening.' Until now. NOW there is a new bike racer/photographer on the block with a keen sense of drop. He captures the essence of cyclocross, which is crashing and lack of bike handling skills.

The fact of the matter is that cyclocross sucks the life out of you. You get muddy and your endorphins are pumped full of adrenaline tricking your mind that you had a good time, which you didn't...but you say you did because that's what your friends say.

There is proof that cross isn't fun here. (I'll be stealing photos from this flickr site all week in case you don't feel like clicking).

Check out the brand of this dude's bike. "Ironic...table of two, your frites are ready."

Also, why the frick is there a giant pit of eternal damnation on this cross course?

The main culprit here really is Brian Sjoberg, aka Sobe. Rist, after Coppi, can probably start thinking of punching in his upgrade card and Hall has just recently found new successes in road races, although has been consistent this summer.

However, Sobe has been winning almost every race he enters for a solid month. This guy has crossfitted his way to every podium in the mid-atlantic.

Big weekend for potential droppage in MABRA.

Saturday is Giro di Coppi RR, a prelude to the hillier road races of Page Valley and Lost River. Looks like registration is fair in the lower categories but the real men of the area have yet to sign up. Will Brian "Sandbagger" Sjoberg dust up the 3s or will Paul "i've won this race before" Rades mop up? Of course, there are about 50 other guys that want to be the first to cross the line in front of the church. That race looks fierce.

Sunday, Mr. Nieters has organized another summer version of the Battle of Bull Run. Facebook details here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=139156249497902. Dombrowski is scheduled to attend and Jim Faber might come out and take photos via moto. That's two steps closer to being pro than you are now.

Yikes...it's been awhile since we've updated but there has been a lot of good droppage going on.

Black Hills Circuit Race provided some good terrain. Almost too good. We are going to give an early season pass to everybody who felt the wrath of the Black Hill. Either that or we can't find any good photos of severe maximum droppage from the day. So..it's never too late if you anybody has a submission...Just sayin'

It's been a long winter. We've had multiple douchebags, caption contests, a YGD celebration of MABRA bahamian domination and lots of days with nothing to post.

However....we are back for what we know. Putting up stupid pictures of people getting dropped during races. There is no shame people. It happens. Well, maybe a little shame..but it still happens. The following is a perfect droppage photo. It's tells a story. It's a story from the NC State Wolfpack Race a couple weeks ago.

And by douchebag, I mean doper. Not only is this guy a douchebag, he's an idiot twofold. Remember this Kayle Leogrande guy bust onto the scene a few years ago on the NRC circuit racking up wins at big races. Come on,. the guy with all the tattoos starting winning sprints out of the blue. Ok ok..this guy. I think this is a publicity shot for Guys Gone Wild: Giant Earhole Edition.

Still don't remember? Ok, he's one of Joe Papp's clients whom purchased steroids from the Pappster then thought it would AWESOME to email a photo of him holding said steroids. Remember, this guy has an arm full of sleeves. SMART!!!

So, of course before this all goes down in 2008, but is already being implicated, he gets a contract from...guess who? Rock Racing. His results in 2008 start to suffer while he's being implicated most likely because he laid off the sauce but it was too late. It turns out Matt DeCanio was right all along about doping. Still crazy..but right.

Once a cheater...always a cheater in our book.

Anyway, TatBoy got a couple years from cycling and now he's back. We found this gem on YouTube addressing his 'fans' regarding his new team. I've never seen a more shifty guy. His eyes are more beady than a desert rat. He's convinced a bunch of people to give him money and actually sponsor a team!! WTF? OMG!

Luckily, I'm not a pro but if I'll never play this guy in Monopoly, chess, checkers, hopscotch, a game of horse, or any other game that one can cheat in. Godspeed.

Early Running for Douchebag of Year - Ricardo Ricco

Hello February. It's cold in MABRA. Please warm up.

Meanwhile, things are happening in the doping world. Besides June and July, it seems that February is a hot time of the year for pros getting popped by WADA. You might remember this time last year when Floyd was making big news of his own ultimately winning Douchebag of the Year honors.

This year, not to be outdone by Floyd is Ricardo Ricco. You might remember this fellow from events such as:

Tossing his bike in a race

Standing on the podium of Giro di Italia totally doped up

Having a pretty hot girlfriend who tested positive for CERA, a new form of EPO

And, of course, testing positive himself

Now, holmes has taken it to a TOTALLY NEW LEVEL. Before the season really even gets kicked off, he gets hit with a sudden illness as a result of a blood transfusion gone wrong. Ricco is in the hospital, no hot girlfriend, no team, no future. I ALMOST feel bad for this guy. Browne Eye blog has a nice little editorial on it here. Much better than an anonymous illiturate can do here.

Cycling fans take note of how much Ricco has aged in the past 2 years. A result of the stress that goes with doping for sure...oh...and DOPING!!!

Of course, Cav sums it up the best..to Cyclingnews: Mark Cavendish recently told the press, "It's like a parasite coming back into the sport.” The sprinter bristles. "It's not the fact of what he did, because everyone can make a mistake. But he doesn't see it as a mistake. He's not even sorry about it."

So, it sounds like it has Cavs support..and I like that cocky cockney speaking missle so Mr. Ricco, you are Douchebag of the Week.

A few MABRAinians are making the voyage to Tour of the Bahamas this weekend for...bike racing? Jared Nieters has been annoying his Facebook fans with mentions of how balmy the weather is and posting pics of one of his companions for the trip. Surprise, it's Chuck Hutch.

Chuck looks cold. Maybe a pullover YGD in the future? Hmmmmm....

Good luck to the Harleymarket XO threesome this weekend (Hutch, Nieters, Sacawa). By the way, do these guys EVER take a break? Curtis Windsor also looks to be getting in on the suntan action. We'll look for some droppage this weekend given out by the crew. If anybody comes across TOB droppage pics, send them our way. We aren't counting on anything though.

One the Cat 3 end of things, we see that Bike Doctor's dentist, Todd Bickling is joined by ABRT's Mark Lahuec (sounds French) where they are both guaranteed a top 13. Guess whose bike this is? (hint...all dentists have to own Cervelo's according to Maryland dental laws).

I like the rainbow colors and the juxtaposition of the black bike and blue water.

Blah blah blah..blah blah blah. More direct evidence to assume Lancalot is finally going to get popped. What's that you say? This time is for realz? You bet your sweet Sheryl Crow oversize sunglasses it is. The United States Gubmint is cracking the whip. Why are the US Feds getting involved? Fraud!!! Millions of Americans were led to believe Lance wasn't doped to the gills during his tenure with the Postal Service, a bona fide government agency.

It even gets more complicated than that. The SI story is finally a story about cycling and doping worth reading. The sport isn't short of these either. Black Tuesday and Sven Nys has Balls of Steel

Man, Cross is really tough to pick out who got dropped. Let's face it, cross isn't about getting dropped. It's about having a good time while strapping on for 45 minutes to an hour for a nice little visit in the pain cave.

YGD is ready for the cross season. It's here, folks. This past weekend, a few lucky YGD readers blasted the sweet smell of YGD embrocation in Baltimore for Charm City Cross presented by twenty20cycling. Speaking of YGD embrocation, samples of the first batch were just sent over to the Ed Sanders Lilypons promoters for prizes. It will be ready for public consumption soon but for now, you have to win it by riding fast.

We'll have to hone our skill about picking out getting dropped in cross races. BUT we did find a few great shots on Joe Mallis' photo site and have given some proper titles. These, are just the tip of the iceberg, we think. You cross racers are a wild bunch.

The YGD site has been rather quiet lately. Call it burnout. Call it a late season break. Call it whatever you would like. The fact of the matter has been that posts have been down here on the ol' website.

Sorry.

Just like many of you, we have been busy riding, taking vacation, staying off the bike..eating...whatever. We'll be back for cross very soon...and in a good way. So, photographers (and readers), we'll be keeping an eye out for your best droppage photos at the bikes that look like road bike but have knobby tires races. Please keep us in mind when you have that camera out. As always, you can send photos directly to us.

Cross is unique in the sense that many people will be experiencing their first races of this discipline ergo MUCHO DROPAGARO! So, racers, keep us in mind while you are tripping over barriers at Charm City or falling into ponds at Ed Sanders Memorial Race. In addition to photos, we want to open our blog up to ~~exploit.~~ celebrate your droppage with words turned into sentences into paragraphs and so on. We want to hear from you.

Of course, we want to help support cross and see it grow even more. This year, we'll be pitching in some of our tee shirts and socks for the Ed Sanders race on September 26th. Look for the classic YGD tee on the podium in Juniors races..right Pete Lindeman? And, of course, we'll be celebrating all the unique individuals who do the unique things they do at these unique cross races throughout the year on yougotdropped.com

We hope to build up YGD Site and community even more. We've heard a lot of great ideas about us doing this or that. Keep them coming. For the time being, we are keeping this organic. We'll be introducing a limited run of embrocation this fall. It will be new. It will be natural. It won't stain your brand new YGD socks. Most of all, it will give your legs the sense of warmth and quickness. If you would like to help distribute this at your cross races, contact us.

Also coming, our YGD Cross tee for everybody to pimp out at the races.

We hope that we can dump some money that we make back into the sport by sponsoring some teams next year with product and maybe even a little dough.

Getting dropped on the national stage. Good. Getting dropped on a national stage and posting it on YouTube. Better. Getting dropped and being on YGD. GREAT!!

Glencoe hosted crit championships a couple weeks ago and this gem was sent to us by a reader from the Windy City. These videos really are priceless. They absolutely show that fitness isn't the only reason frank mcbikerider gets his ass dropped. It's bike handling, taking corners, sprinting after every corner, and hearing strange computer beeps throughout your 10 minute race. To get to the droppage, go to 8 minutes. We've seen worse.

This morning in the YGD inbox there was a message from Chuck Hutch's Facebook account asking for us to 'like' the Battley Harley-Davidson/Sonoma Restaurant/Teaism Cycling Team.

Ok. No problem.

We were excited about the possibility of being part of the BHDSRTCT community so we investigated. We wanted to know more. This is our big chance to hang out cyberly with all our local cycling heros!! Our cyber sleuthing led us to click 'info' where we found even more info.

We saw photos. We made a friend or two. Then we saw a mission statement!

"We are an elite Mid-Atlantic Bicycle Racing Team competing on the MABRA, NRC and USA Crit Series circuits and proudly exposing our sponsors names to the general public."

This team has moved up one spot in our hearts. It's so easy to hate on them, but it's also easy to love with philosophical statements of purpose like the above. We wonder if Beavis or Butthead wrote this?

By the way..the season is almost over. Will Chuck resume his role as Godfather in Mafia Wars?

We don't know. But this guy took some super sick helmet cam footage of him getting stung by a bee while riding his bike...gangsta lean and all.

Let's analyze the video, shall we?

first 10 seconds we see the following: rear view mirror. riding on left side of path. states he's going 20-25 mph on this thing. EXTREME TRANCE JAN ULRICH TOM BOONEN COKE MUSIC!!

at 23 seconds holmes get stung by a bee and goes crashing into the brush.

Lost River Part 1

OMG! We take off a few days of posting and we receive message after message reminding us of Giro droppage...Lost River droppage...and upcoming Page Valley droppage. We admit, we dropped the ball on this. In our own self defense there was a Golden Girls marathon on Lifestyle this weekend .

Lost River. Where to start? For the novice poster, this may seem like an easy race to call out droppage. But no! Racers are all over the course. In packs. Off the back in packs. Solo off the front. Solo off the back. In bushes. Hiding. Anarchy.

Before we get going on the droppage, we just want to state that Jose Escobar is a baaaad ass. He is dropping dudes like 1/2 a mile back and then grittin at the camera. All hail Jose. I'll take a salty oatmeal cookie while I watch you climb a mountain.

In case you haven't heard, Floyd Landis is signed up and racing the Cascade Classic Stage Race in Bend, OR. The promoter said something like "as long as he doesn't bring a circus with him, we don't mind him racing."

The circus that Landis has brought with him is a Dateline news crew and Floyd's inability to find a jersey before the opening prologue.

We don't know why, but we think the grey tee shirt is awesome and have forgiven Floyd for cheating during the TDF and ripping people off with the Floyd Fairness Fund.

Tour de You Got Dropped

We are tinkering around with sponsoring a local team next year but who would it be? If we sponsored a team, does that mean we would have to promote a race? It couldn't since a few 'elite' teams don't do any of that.

.A picture says a thousand words...but it's more fun to put a few together and make our own race. Ladies and gentleman, the first Tour de YGD.

Soon after, the pack rolled out. As always, there are always a couple guys who try to animate the race early.

The race started. Adam from Dominion Cycling drilled it followed by red jersey hairy leg guy wearing workshop glasses.

The pace was...'screaming'

There was a crash mid-pack. People got horizontal.

There was carnage all around. Chuck Hutch was dropped. He couldn't chase back on.

Spectators were leaving. (we give this lady a solid 7 with Reston standards in mind.)

Then Joe Jefferson wore this shirt. Police came and called the shirt a crime scene and blocked the area.

This unnamed racer got off the front. It started snowing and his road bike turned into a mountain bike!

When we first started this thing, it was just a little blog to lighten up the mood of our local racing scene. We picked on a few guys a bit too much. We made enemies. We made friends. We made some laugh. We made some roll their eyes.

Even though we hang onto our core values, YGD has evolved quite a bit. We've been pimping gear like socks and tees for a few months now and always get a kick when somebody from Japan or Canada send in an order. Think of it, some touc wearing, maple syrup drinking canuck from Toronto is going to be rocking some YGD socks this weekend in their office park igloo races.

We digress. We also have a little email button at the top where we ask our readers to send in photos and occasionally we get a submission from out of the area. The power of the interweb!! These could be photos they took of others getting the drop or it could be a photo of them getting the drop. Friday's submission came from a reader in the Yukon Territory. We had to look up where that was. We've mapped it out for all the geographically challenged.

So thanks to our reader from the great white north for sending in one of the most scenic photos we've had on YGD. As he puts it "That black dot in the background is me, getting dropped on the first (and only) climb in this race."

Harry Fang has been out on the streets with his point and shoot. He's getting better. Bike racers are now in focus rather than the trees and buildings in the background. He also has developed an eye for droppage as displayed at one of the easiest races on the MABRA calendar.

Ride Sally Ride this past weekend was a 3 corner course with wide open lanes and no elevation. You could ride a lazy boy in this race and still finish. There were some Cat 4s who proved us wrong. How does this even happen?
