Ok, here is the second clue to the $100 Who Is You Got Dropped? contest. I checked the domain, yougotdropped.com. It was only registered recently, March 8. So I figured there might be some traffic on the web. I Googled yougotdropped.com. Here is the clue: within the first 4 pages of results, there is a link that will lead you to YGD.
Ok Dropped, the game is up. You can out yourself on GamJams.net Monday yourself, or I will do it for you on Tuesday with irrefutable evidence. Write a cute expose explaining why you think you were / are the guy for the job to make fun of people dropping out of races or whatever. If you want to keep the blog going, fine. You'll just have to do it with everyone knowing who you are.
@ Jared, the answer to your question is YES: it is true that YDG did not do the 1/2/3 race at Jeff Cup.
So the 3 clues thus far are: 1) YGD is a MABRA 1/2/3 rider 2) IF you Google yougotdropped.com, there is a link in the first 4 pages of results that can lead you to YGD. 3) YGD did NOT race Jeff Cup 1/2/3
and I'll throw in a 4th clue: 4) The state of Connecticut is very relevant in the link found in the first 4 pages of Google results on yougotdropped.com
A persistent player was able to run down the identity of YGD from my first 4 clues. Nice work and congrats on winning the $100 AMEX gift certificate. We will announce the winner, the identity of YGD and the full evidence trail Tuesday if YGD chooses not to out himself!
am i the only one who DOESN'T want YGD outed? he (she?) is fairly amusing, and has become a well-known mabra fixture in a relatively short amount of time. none of his/her posts seem particularly mean-spirited to me*, so why not let YGD stay behind the curtain?
*then again, i may not be the most reliable barometer for this
I am in the same boat in keeping the identity a secret. Ygd never said he never got dropped but I feel the site is done in a spirit of an inevitible thing that happens in cycling and that is getting dropped. I bet if a poll was done most people would not want the identity to be revealed, takes the fun out of the site, seems like all the riders who get results get picked on then no names.
I agree Kyle. I would never have commented if I thought YGD was an a-hole. it's just not that mean. I do think that this (BV's posting above) is more marketing and manipulation to mess with our heads- HAymarket has been implicated before. I also don't want the fun to be over- part of the fun is the anonymity (sp?) SFP was slightly less friendly as far as I am concerned. Plus, why would these comments remain here?
We are honored that there is a blog about our blog! We think this is a rather annoying way to be outed but whatever. The only reason we are anonymous is because we think it makes it more fun for everybody, even the dropped riders. If we truly do get outed, we will most likely take this blog down or just concentrate on professional cycling. No more local fun and it will be all Bryan Vaughn's fault. Poo on you Bryan!!!
I think it is fun to guess, no harm in guessing right! Just curious if you read Bikesnobnyc before you knew who it was and now that you do know, what is different, other than knowing the identity of BSNYC?? BUT I can see if you knew who the identity of YGD how it would kinda suck since the whole premise seems to be anonymity and light hearted.
Hell if you want I could start a blog about the horrors of officiating in the D-20 and call out all the whiners and the most insane things that have happened at races I have officiated, not naming any names of course. But what fun would that be and generally when racers misbehave out on the course they get their asses whipped in the parking lot right ;-0
So the question is did Bryan figure this out? The other question is who else is feeding you the information about the MABRA riders if you are out of the area? It's been a good laugh. Whether we know who's writing this or not, it's all in good fun and entertainment.
This is silly. Why do we care who YGD is? I think we should just ride our bikes and occasionally end up here with a funny caption and leave it at that.
this is the most salient information I find in the first 4 pages of googling yougotdropped.com: Lloyd Banks Is A Homo!!! - Page 4 - RRT - Real Rap Talk DAMN BANKS BE SUCKING COCKS
Lloyd Banks- worst rap name ever. He was the 50 cent spin off act from "G Unit". His debut LP "On fire" was not good by any stretch of the imagination. Even with 50 Cent doing the hook, the song blows. I would be super shocked to find out that Dre or any one from his LA studio group made that beat. They say that Em and Kwame produced it... ugg. Has anyone forgotten about the silly postings here yet? good.

Well I guess that rules out Chip Hoover - I had a feeling it might be him, but we were riding when this was posted.
smartphone or iphone or schedule time to post. it can still be chippers.
definitely not Hoover
Finally got my t-shirt!
1000 MABRA Dr.- Nice.
It's Chip. Nice gloves at Jeff Cup - they do the trick?

WE HAVE A WINNER!

WSJ? Nope.
NYTimes? Nope.
The Moon? Nope.
But you've still got options.
How about gamjams or the mabra listserv?
See, doing stuff like this always comes back to bite you. How does the saying go, "He who laughs last laughs best, hardest, longest, etc".
Can't wait until tomorrow.
So my question is, is YGD the same person who started the blog So Faux Pro????
And whomever it is has the screen for the ticycle that was used on one of the Church Creek T-shirts that I have. Lacy or Hoover...
